Caroline Karanja is the team leader of the association of Microfinance AMFI, she has a wealthy of experience in mainstream banking and the microfinance space for over 15years. She is a a professional banker. She joined bank in 1996 where she served in various capacities up to the position of a service delivery manager by the time she left the bank in 2006. She has been with the Association of Microfinance Institutions since 2006 when she joined as the Program Coordinator. Since then she has gained a wide range of experience such in policy development, lobbying and advocacy, recruitment of members and capacity building of for them as well as strategy development. She is a graduate of United States International University – Nairobi and holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration with a finance option. Over the years she has also undertaken various professional courses relevant to her field and is skilled and experienced in the following areas: Feasibility studies/needs assessment, Project appraisal and evaluation, Project design and policy development, Financial planning and Budgeting, Donor funded proposal writing/fundraising/ networking, and Donor funds management.
Program Manager Finance & PerfomanceShadrack Mithika
CPA Shadrack Mithika heads Finance Function at AMFI and in charge of industry`s data collection, analysis and publication. He has over 17 years hands on experience in finance with a wide knowledge of the financial sector. He has been with AMFI since May 2009 having worked previously as a financial accountant and an accountant in a microfinance and Sacco respectively. He is a graduate of Business Administration from Kenya Methodist University (BBA Accounts and Finance with First class Honors, Master of science in Finance (Finance and investments) from the University of Nairobi and Currently Pursuing PHD in Business Administration (Finance option) at the University of Nairobi Besides Shadrack is a professional accountant(CPA-K) and a member of the institute of certified public accountant of Kenya (ICPAK) and pursuing CSIA (Certified Securities and Investment analyst of Kenya Part 2).Close

PROGRAMS MANAGER: CAPACITY DEVELOPMENTJOAN CHELANGAT KIRUI
Joan Kirui oversees the SBFIC (Sparkassen Foundation for International cooperation) program at AMFI and in charge of capacity development to AMFI members and its clients. She has 11 years of experience where she has supported SMEs and youth by offering training on financial education, provided technical assistance, capacity building, and financial inclusion, business development services, and created lasting professional partnerships. Joan joined AMFI in Jan 2020 having worked previously in various Financial Institutions and USAID funded programs. She has also earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration (project management option) and also a Degree in Bachelor of Commerce (marketing option) from Africa Nazarene University.
PROGRAM MANAGER-TECHNICALMS. SUSAN NJERI
Susan Njeri is a Program Manager for WaterCredit Adoption Program at AMFI. She has extensive experience of over 10 years in Banking Sector and 3 years in Project Management. She has been with AMFI since December 2019 having worked previously as a WASH consultant for various programs and Relationship Manager at ABC Bank. Susan holds a degree in BSC (Mathematics Major) from University of Nairobi and a certification in Monitoring and Evaluation from Kenya Institute of Management. She also holds a diploma in Business Information Systems (ABC-UK).
